Genesis 22:1-19
November 11 ~ Daily Devotional by Tom Milam
When God calls us to do something, we need to act immediately. If we don't, the devil will send his imps to discourage and change our will about doing what we know is right. Many times we want the thrill of the call of God in our life, but we don't want to take the responsibility of doing the necessary things. When we see a work that needs to be done, we should run to it with excitement, after all, this is the life that we have chosen to live.
When God speaks to us, we should go right then and God will give us something else to do as quick as we get that done. We should never look to the common sense things nor look ahead of the task before us to see if it's going to work out like we thought it should. Whatever the hindrance that caused the disobedience in doing the known will of God is the very thing that will cause your relationship with God to suffer.
If we choose only to do what we feel is right for us, we will be assured to miss Gods best for our lives; because we would choose only the good things - - the sweet things; but God has some distasteful things for us too - - and He will be there to guide us through. God is working His will through us.
"Just Thinking"
Come now, and let us reason
together, saith the Lord.
In this life, it is the least you could afford. (Isaiah 1:18)
