"Fellowship In The Newness of The Old Gospel" ~ Tom Milam

November 10 ~ "He Leadeth Me" ~ Daily Devotional by Tom Milam

We are daily set apart to fulfill Gods purpose.  Everyday is new, we are faced with new decisions, new thoughts and visions! we have asked God and are willing to have His will worked in us.  But we have problems, we want it our way.  We ask that Gods will be done and then we run ahead of Him with it saying; I believe that God is in this or that because it seems to be so good.  As long as we try to build our own character or ambition to show what we have done, we cannot be closely identified with Christs interests.

We must get out of ourselves and allow God to put us where we belong for His purpose; then we will not understand our own ways, because our thoughts will be his thoughts and we will surely act strange to the world.  What I am to do and to be, is Gods business, not mine; when I learn this, I'll realize His standpoint for my life and all God ever puts before me is ~ will you trust me?  And I should never say, Lord this is too hard for me, it might cause me grief and disappointment.  When I say something like this, it stops Gods will for me and He won't work His purpose in me until I learn to trust.  When I let selfishness, stubbornness and self-pity rule me, I have built a wall around myself and God will never force me out; I must jump the hedge of trust.

"Just Thinking"
To go where I cannot see,
To see past what is natural,
To pass beyond what is normal;
To set my course in the hands of another ---
Is this common sense? Oh no!
It's trusting God.
