"Yes Lord, But. . ." ~ Luke 9:57-62

September 27th ~ He Leadeth Me, A daily devotional by Tom Milam

God knows me, even better than I know myself; nothing is

Flowers picked out of our yard in
Kopperston, WV.

hidden, everything is naked and open before God.  We say that we will do Gods will and follow him no matter what, and then when Gods will brings us to a hard place in life, we think, now surely this is not Gods will; this is hurting - serving and we can't understand why  It is simply God preparing us for something on down the road that we would never be able to withstand had we not gone through being put in our place amidst this trial.

When we are going through a trial, we should never think: O! God, why am I going through such a hardship.  I believe you must be mad at me.  Have I sinned? Remember this, that Jesus had not even a place to lay His weary head, and we have just proclaimed and testified that we would follow Him anywhere, no matter what.

Our zeal of readiness is commendable, but if we never go, we are hypocritical, and shame will cloud our blessings.  We should never run from saying, "here I am Lord, use me!" Because just as sure as we make that statement from the heart, He will chart our course, according to His own providential care and will.  forward is the only direction for the Christian.

"The King"
What a joyous thing,
To be in service for the King;
The king of Glory has a resounding ring;
May we bow at His altar with everything.
