“After Its Own Kind” ~ Dr. Tom Milam ~ Daily Devotional

Genesis 1:24-31

“In the beginning God created...” Wouldn’t you like to have been there when God began to speak, “let there be”, and it was?

He probably blew His breath and His spirit moved upon the face of the waters. He could have waved His hand, and said let there be light: And it was so. He might have taken His finger and moved the land masses and separated them with water He drew from the universe.  However, He molded this earth and all of the elements of the universe, by speaking a word and it was so. He spoke to men of old to write and they did.

He spoke to the devil and his angels of darkness and they answered from the pits of hell. He spoke to the disciples to go, and they went; He spoke to the virgin Mary, that she would deliver a son, that would deliver the world; God spoke and Jesus suffered the agony of the cross; He again spoke and Jesus raised forth from the grave, ascended and is coming back for His own.

God is speaking to each of us, to go and tell the story of a Saviour come from Glory.  Are you listening to Him speaking? Are you willing to fulfill the commissioned orders we received at Conversion?

When God spoke in the beginning that life would produce after its own kind, still holds true today.  We as Christians are to produce more Christians. Let us labor to produce after our “own kind.”

“Grace”

Men of old in Canaan land Ate angels food from God’s own hand;

so why not now from His hand to feed Grace a-plenty to provide our need.

Start today, throw your fears away: Live for Jesus,

do your best And we who have believed  do enter into rest.
