"Identified with His Sufferings" ~ Dr. Tom Milam (2004 He Leadeth Me!~)

 But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.  1 Peter 4:13

From Bro. Toms book, "He Leadeth Me"; a daily
devotional released in 2004.

We ask God to work His will in us, then people and circumstance start changing all around us; troubles come on every hand and we begin to experience all kinds of trials.  We suffer through bereavements, sicknesses and anxieties; it is Gods will being done in us, preparing us for things that we can't see as yet.  It's not questioning God as to why we must go through this and that of suffering.  It takes growing to be more like Jesus.  If we are more than willing to shout with him and not be willing to suffer, then we have not yet learned what being a  disciple is.

It is okay to ask God why, but probably the answer will be; you are going through these hard experiences to prepare you for something else along the way and you will be better equipped for the task.  Do you really want to know your place? Then be willing to suffer with him and watch his will work in you and through you.  Our questions should be; what can I do for you now Lord, that I'm going through this? What can I learn and whose life I can touch?  Am I a willing sacrifice, a partaker of Christ Suffering?

"His Call":
I could not understand His
will---His call;
But when the suffering  ended,
I was girded through it all.
