"....godliness with contentment is great gain." 1 Tim. 1:6

In my morning devotions - the Lord brought these thoughts to mind!

1 Tim 6:1-3 Timothy was teaching in vs. 1 "..that the name of God and his doctrine be not blasphemed." and in vs. 3"If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;" 4 "He is proud, knowing nothing,..." 6"But godliness with contentment is great gain." Be content family and friends! Have a great day!

  1. Yes I try to live my life by verse 6: godliness with contentment is great gain. I always like to remember that we brought nothing into this world and it is certain we can take nothing out, so really anything that we have at all is a blessing. So often we can get into a mentality that God owes us something because we accepted His free gift and we can get to feeling as though God is punishing us when everything doesn't go our way, but if He gave us what we truly deserved...well we would all be in a very sad state. 2. Bro. Mark - thank you for your well defined response. You are truly a blessing as is your lovely wife Sarah. May God richly bless you both for your faithfulness and "contentement" in HIS provision for your lives both spiritually and materialy.

    God Bless,
