A few years back I was getting ready to preach one Sunday night, filling in for a Pastor friend of mine.  A few folk had given testimony; then this elderly lady stood up and began to weep and thank God for hearing her prayer after all those wasted years.
She said that while canning some green beans she got down from a cupboard, her Mothers Old Bible and began to page through it, reminiscing of the times that her Dad would gather all the family around the old fire place or out on the front porch, sing a few gospel hymns together, say a few words of thanks and praise, and then read a portion of selected scriptures.
She said, she became very ashamed of herself for not carrying on that legacy, even though she admitted that she wasn’t saved.  She said, I could have at least read the Bible now and again.
This lady was past seventy years old, and as she was canning those beans and thinking about her age, thumbing through the Bible, waiting on her can lids to “plink”, (seal), She came under heavy Holy Ghost conviction as her eyes fastened on Ephesians chapter two, where she saw that she was lost, hopelessly walking away from God.  Then all of a sudden her can lids began to seal making a plinking sound it was then that she realized that she, (according to her own words), had never been “plinked”, or sealed.  So she bowed her head over that Old Bible and called on God to save her and He did!
