"He Leadeth Me" ~ Daily Devotional September 24th
God's beauty in the midst of thorns. Let Him bring beauty in your life! Forgive someone today and be blessed. |
Matthew 5:23 Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee; 24 Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.
James 4:17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.
When I think I have a handle on my life, I look and find something else to work on, God is no doubt teaching me how to know Him better.
It is only right for us to say, Gods will be done with us, but when His will includes being humiliated at the hands of someone else, we think we are too good to be put to a test like that. We are not willing to bear the reproach of our Saviour, like knocking on the door of a stranger or even a neighbor; maybe it is standing for right, when it is politically incorrect. It even might be forgiving someone, when it seems you have every right not to. We must learn to throw pride away or it will become our master, and we will lose our usefulness for God. Jesus and His will for us must be our master and nothing else. We must allow the Word of God to settle into us to the point that we hunger for it to teach us Gods way of thinking.
If I have secret faults and sins, I cannot be in close communion with God. The instant I confess my sins and faults, I can and will enter into a relationship with Christ like I have never known. My disposition will change. What once controlled my temperament is brought to light, and it all started when I was willing to lay myself out before God and seek His face to know His will. When we learn to give up all rights to ourselves, we will be used of God in ways we never thought possible. ~Thank God for Conviction~
"I Am His"
My rights are done,
I belong to God;
His light doth shine in me.
