"A Positive Spirit" ~ Linda K. Milam

A Positive Spirit
E
Flowers given out of LOVE.
very situation in life will make you bitter or better. Have you heard that before?  You may not understand many of the things you face every day, but having a positive spirit, will help you as you walk each day in the life you live.  Having a critical spirit, backbiting, gossiping, or having a hurtful attitude will affect your self, church, family and the lost!   Now I am all about having Christians presenting a “Christ-Like” attitude, mostly because we could be the only Bible the lost will see.  So having a positive spirit is key to that.
If we keep a sweet relationship with the LORD, leaning on Him, the bitter will become better.  We all face it every day.  Others around us will affect your life in some way.  When we wake in the morning, my husband says “Good morning Sweetheart, and gives me a precious kiss.”  He loves me and starts my day in love.  Some of you may not have had that early morning relationship in a while.  Now you might say, you have only been married a short time that will stop! Please let me live in stupidity and don’t tell me that! J  But does it have to stop!?
Now maybe it has been a long time since you have had that kind of wake up, and you wouldn’t know how to act if you did.  Well, how does your husband feel?  Maybe you could greet him with a Good morning and a precious kiss?  Again, it may have been so long, that he will wonder what he has done or has not done!!!
Don’t be deterred ladies!  Just tell him you love him and let it go, then do it again the next day, and the next!  Pray for him, and God will give you, restore, or keep your sweet relationship with your husband fresh each day!  By showing him a “positive” spirit, he will certainly be happier and you will be as well,  When you have a “happy” home, you are a happy wife, your husband will be happy, your children will be happy.  Young ladies, this is where you learn to become a “happy wife”.  Start by telling your parents, grandparents, siblings that you love them.  And keep it up every day.  The man you will meet and marry someday will benefit from such a wife as this!  Ps. 19:14 says, “Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight O LORD, my strength and my redeemer.”  Dwell on these things and God will help you with A Positive Spirit.
I remember a story that Pastor Terry Booher told on occasion.  Of a man who was convicted in a service when Preacher talked to the men about revering their wives; treating them the same or better than they did when they were “wooing” them into marriage.  He asked them when they had last bought flowers or candy for them or just told them how much they appreciated them and loved them.  The man thought on this and on Monday he went and bought his wife flowers and took them home.
It had been so long since he had done anything of the sort, the wife accused him of a great wrong doing and the battle began.  The man called Pastor Booher, told him what happened and begged for advice on how to “save” his marriage!  You might laugh a little here, but how tragic that a love that was born and nurtured to marriage should get in such a condition.
Be positive in your relationship to your husband, fiancé, or dear friend.  God will bless you and him.
